Fra' Andrew Bertie
Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta
who died last night in Rome
fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church.

Fra' Andrew Bertie, a distant relative of the Queen, was the 78th and first British Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order. He was an alumnus of Christ Church, Oxford and formerly an officer with the Scots Guards and a teacher at Worth Abbey School. RIP.

Yes we prayed several times in the special Mass for the sick organised by the Knights of Malta..
An officer and a gentleman.
Fra Bertie must have been Grand Master for nearly twenty years, I think.
God rest the soul of His Eminent Highness.
