Pastures New
Just to let readers know that I have arrived safely in my new parish and tonight made my 'debut' as curate by acting as spiritual director to the Legion of Mary (and ad libbing my allocutio).
To be honest, moving from Willesden was more emotional than I had imagined. I can now empathise with older priests because if leaving as assistant after a mere 5 years unsettles you, then departing as parish priest after a decade or more must be a real trauma! But the work of the Lord goes on and, now as I approach my second evening at Kingsland, I feel at home and have been warmly welcomed by clergy and parishioners alike.
